This Module provides an in-depth understanding of core field instrumentation used in process industries such as Oil & Gas, Power, Chemical, and Manufacturing plants.
It focuses on pressure, flow, level, and temperature measurement principles, industrial transmitters, installation practices, and real plant applications.
The Module is designed to build a strong field instrumentation foundation, especially for students and engineers entering site, commissioning, operations, and maintenance roles.
This module is part of the instruX Internship Program and forms the foundation for applied practice and project work.
Instrumentation & Electrical Engineering students
Fresh graduates preparing for plant roles
Working instrumentation engineers
Maintenance & commissioning professionals
Module Learning Outcomes
Pressure measurement principles (gauge, absolute, differential)
Pressure transmitters, gauges, and switches
Flow measurement methods (orifice, venturi, magnetic, vortex)
Level measurement techniques (DP, radar, ultrasonic, displacer)
Temperature measurement (RTDs, thermocouples, thermowells)
Instrument selection based on process conditions
Industrial applications and common field practices
This module is delivered during Phase 1 – Core Learning of the instruX Internship Program.
